Effective 29 October 2026
Privacy policy
Hermes is a private personal assistant operated by Frank van den Broek for personal use. This policy covers the assistant's Google Gmail connection and related personal data.
Information accessed
After Google authorization, Hermes can search and read the connected Gmail account, including message headers, bodies and attachments needed for a requested task. It can send an email only after the owner separately approves its exact contents and recipient. OAuth credentials are stored privately by the integration service.
The assistant also processes the owner's conversations, explicitly saved personal facts and linked WhatsApp messages. WhatsApp retrieval is read-only.
Use and sharing
Information is used to answer the owner's requests, retrieve relevant sources, maintain conversation continuity, remember explicitly saved facts, and prepare approved actions. Gmail searches do not automatically add their results to durable personal memory.
Prompts, relevant retrieved content and conversation context may be sent to OpenAI's cloud model service through the operator's configured Codex account to generate answers and support memory retrieval. Processing by that provider is subject to its applicable terms and the account's data controls. Google processes Gmail API requests and any approved outgoing email; recipients receive emails that the owner approves for sending.
The operator does not sell personal information or use it for advertising. This public website contains information pages only; it does not provide access to the private assistant or its messages.
Storage and retention
Assistant conversations, saved facts, local email proposals, retrieved evidence and integration state are stored on the operator's private infrastructure. Backups may contain earlier copies. These records remain until the owner removes them or the relevant backup is retired; there is no automatic promise of immediate deletion from every copy.
Cloud model processing and service logs follow the applicable providers' retention rules. This website is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes network request information to deliver and protect the site. The site adds no analytics scripts, advertising or application cookies.
Control and deletion
The owner can revoke the Gmail connection at any time in Google Account connections. Revocation stops future authorized access; it does not remove previously stored conversations, evidence or backups.
Saved personal facts can be reviewed, corrected and forgotten through Hermes. Forgetting a fact does not delete the original Gmail message, WhatsApp message, conversation or older backup. The operator can separately remove locally retained records and credentials.
For questions, access or deletion requests, contact Frank van den Broek through the support email shown on the Google authorization screen, or through the existing private Hermes conversation.
